What is the purpose of the CO2 cartridge ?

The Drink Up CO2 cartridge is an essential part of the Drink Up kit, screwing on easily to guarantee optimum service. With a capacity of 16 grams of CO₂ per cartridge, it allows up to 5 litres of drinks to be dispensed into glasses. Injecting CO₂ is not just for serving, it also helps to keep drinks fresh inside the keg.

By acting as a propellant, CO₂ helps to push the drink effectively, ensuring an optimal tasting experience. When the cartridge is activated, it releases the gas needed to pressurise the keg, which not only makes serving easier but also contributes to a better quality of the drink in the keg.

Tips for using the CO2 cartridge :

The cartridge should be screwed into the Drink Up kit until it is fully tightened. Its gas is released automatically when the kit is locked to the cap, thanks to the quarter-turn performed with the dip tube.

When the keg is empty, the CO₂ cartridge is still under pressure and its gas must be evacuated : to do this, simply pull the decompression ring upwards quite strongly until all the gas is released (this can take up to 30 seconds if the keg is not completely empty).

Do not inhale the cartridges of CO₂.

Cartridges should be recycled after single use.

A cartridge of CO₂ is for single use only and should only be used for a single keg. The CO₂ keeps the drink in the keg. Barrel pressure is between 0.3 and 0.4 bar.
